POLIMUN IB VAR2
Lyophilizate
COMPOSITION
Active ingredients per dose:
Infectious bronchitis virus, strain VAR2/V2 ≥ 3.5 lg EID50 obtained on SPF chick embryos.
PHARMACEUTICAL FORM
Lyophilizate.
IMMUNOBIOLOGICAL PROPERTIES
The vaccine stimulates the formation of specific immunity in birds within 14 days after vaccination and protects vaccinated chickens from infectious bronchitis for 6-8 weeks. The vaccine does not have any medicinal properties.
POULTRY SPECIES
Chickens.
INDICATIONS FOR USE
Prevention of infectious bronchitis in chickens, starting from the first day of life.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
It is forbidden to vaccinate birds that are in the incubation period of infectious disease, in a state of exhaustion, affected by helminths, as well as birds that are in a stressful state caused by transportation, environmental exposure, or in another immunosuppressive state.
The strength of immunity may be insufficient if the vaccine was not used according to the instructions.
INTERACTION WITH OTHER DRUGS
Can be used from one day of age in combination with the Newcastle disease vaccine.
SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS FOR USE
Do not administer the vaccine to hens 4 weeks before the start and during the egg-laying period.
Forced vaccination during the laying period does not lead to a decrease in productivity. A temporary drop in egg production can be caused by stress.
The vaccine should be protected from direct sunlight and used within 2 hours of reconstitution.
ROUTE OF ADMINISTRATION AND DOSAGE
Vaccination and revaccination are carried out by one of the following methods: spraying, intraocular administration, or drinking water.
For the prevention of infectious bronchitis in chickens, intraocular and spray methods are most effective.
Intraocular method
It is used in chickens from one day of age. The lyophilized vaccine is dissolved at the rate of 1000 doses of the vaccine in 30-50 ml of water (the exact amount of water depends on the type of dropper used).
Holding the bird in one hand place it under the drip so that one drop gets into the eyes. The quality of the vaccine administration is controlled by the blue-colored conjunctiva.
Spray method
To spray the vaccine, either an automatic sprayer or a manually operated sprayer is used. When using a manual sprayer, it is important to spray the birds twice.
The number of doses of the drug is chosen depending on the number of birds to be vaccinated. Pour the vaccine solution into the spray bottle and stir gently.
The vaccine solution is replenished every 1.5-2 hours. It is necessary to monitor the operation of the outlet nozzle and the water temperature (10-20°C).
Spraying is carried out from a height of about 40 cm above the heads of birds. As a result of spraying, the birds should be completely moistened.
Vaccination by large-drop spraying (coarse spray):
Chickens are vaccinated from the age of one day. For every 1000 doses, 200-300 ml of water is required. The droplet size is 150–250 µ. After spraying, the birds are kept for 15-20 minutes in a closed, well-heated room, away from drafts, until completely dry.
Vaccination by small-drop spraying:
Chickens are vaccinated no earlier than 12 days of age. For every 1000 doses, 400-500 ml of water is required. The droplet size is 100–150 µ. Gather the birds in one part of the poultry house, turn off the ventilation and heating of the room, and turn on the lights. Spray the vaccine. Turn on ventilation 10-20 minutes after the end of the spraying process.
Vaccination check
The quality of vaccination is controlled by the blue staining of bird feathers. Run your hand over the birds to make sure the birds are completely wet with the vaccine.
Drinking method
The day before the vaccine is used, the volume of water in liters is determined, which the birds drink within 1-1.5 hours. It is advisable to vaccinate in the morning.
On the day of vaccination, the vaccine is diluted so that a predetermined volume of drinking water contains one dose of vaccine per bird. Before vaccination, turn off the water supply 1-3 hours before the start.
WITHDRAWAL PERIOD
0 days.
SHELF LIFE
24 months. Two hours after reconstitution.
STORAGE AND TRANSPORTATION CONDITIONS
In a dark place, out of reach of children, at a temperature of 2 to 8°C.
Freezing and storage of the vaccine during the expiration date at a temperature of minus 20°C does not adversely affect the quality of the drug.
